Christmas exhibition and gingerbread house / Vánoční výstava a perníková chaloupka

Today I would like to invite you to a traditional Christmas exhibition. It is held annually for the whole Advent and Christmas holidays in the historical cellars of Betlemská chapel. Each year there are loads of traditional handmade decorations and nativity scenes from various natural materials, all elaborated with many tiny details. And each year they are completely different. There is great Christmas atmosphere, some crafters are showing their work and If you are in Prague before Christmas, I really recommend it. If you are not in Prague, take a walk with me.

Dneska bych vás chtěla pozvat na Vánoční výstavu. Koná se každoročně během Adventu a vánočních prázdnin v historickém sklepení Betlémské kaple. Každý rok je zde k vidění spousta rukodělných dekorací a betlémů z různých přírodních materiálů s úžasně propracovanými drobnými detaily. A každý rok je úplně jiná. Je zde krásná vánoční atmosféra, někteří tvůrci ukazují svoji práci přímo na místě, a pokud budete před Vánoci v Praze, určitě návštěvu doporučuji. A když v Praze nebudete, pojďte se podívat se mnou.

Perfect tiny lace decorations and nativity scenes painted on stone.
Perfektní drobné krajkové ozdoby a betlémy malované na kámen.

More nativity scenes from different materials. The wood prevails, but there was a “seaside” one from shells and beach finds or one made from pottery in a polypore mushroom.

Nativity scene from blueprint textile.
Modrotiskový betlém.

I like the shape and simplicity of this one.
Líbí se mi tvar a jednoduchost tohoto.

A little display of old traditional crafts used in woodland.
Malá  výstavka starých řemesel z lesního prostředí.

 Few more delicate decorations.
Pár dalších dekorací.

This year there were several wood carvers, spinner, ladies would paint your name n glitter on blown glass balls and lady decorating gingerbread.

The man was playing carols on baroque organ like instrument and you could even try, if you can play organ.

Last year there were so many gingerbread things, it inspired me to make my own gingerbread house / village / scene. This year there was not so many gingerbread, but still lot of inspiration.
Loni zde bylo spousta perníkových věcí a mě přepadla touha si něco takového taky vyzkoušet.

And here is my first attempt. I started on Sunday with architecture puzzle and I guess that was the easiest part. You will definitely see this story to continue…

All photos are again here.
